NEW MUSIC: ‘make your move’
LASHES’ journey into music commenced at the tender age of seven, when a realised restlessness towards learning traditional music theory ignited a lifelong passion for musical experimentation and heart-on-sleeve songwriting.
Self-taught and driven by collaboration, the Ballarat-raised, Melbourne-dwelling artist has aligned herself with a brilliant lineup of local producers, and combines sincere lyrical narratives with infectious melodies to create an evocative and relatable brand of electro-pop.
“I’m influenced by my own personal experiences and am writing constantly. I find it very therapeutic to sort of purge out my thoughts and feelings onto paper.”
Over the past 18 months, LASHES has commanded attention on stages across her home state. She made a resounding entry into the live music scene with a sold-out debut performance at Melbourne’s Colour Club, plus a sold-out hometown show at Volta in Ballarat, and has since opened for the likes of Boo Seeka, Cry Club, and I Know Leopard. LASHES has also taken to the stage at major music festivals Spilt Milk and Groovin’ The Moo.
With a treasure trove of new music ready to be revealed in the coming months, LASHES has her sights set on an exciting new era.
